The family moved to Elkhart and later to Palestine where they all united with Alpha and Omega Apostolic Faith Church where he was a faithful member and deacon under the leadership of the late Overseer Norma Clewis and Pastor Marvin Clewis. He played the guitar at church.
He is survived by daughters Brenda (Evangelist Larry) Jones, Ruby (Clemmie) Hightower and Tamieka Thompson: sons, Carl Thompson, William (Ida) Thompson, David Thompson, Charles Thompson, Edward (Danielle) Thompson, Marco (Glenda) Thompson, Calvin Thompson, and jeffrey (Tomara) Thompson: a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren all of Palestine; sister, Fannie Donnell and Opal Gamble, both of Tyler.
