KENDALL BURTON LANGE'S JOURNEY IN LIFE

The Lord formed a baby boy from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and Kendall Lange was born on April 23, 1924. He was entrustd to the care of Melvin and Lillian Lange who lived on a farm near Ableman (Rock Springs) Wisconsin.

Kendall was a graduate of Baraboo High School in 1942. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He returned to Rock Springs and became an employee of Wisconsin Power and Light Co. for thirty eight years. Over the years he has been a conscientious caretaker of part of the family's "40" in the country; he has been an advocate for the environment, and for the birds and animals.

The Lord adopted Kendall in the Sacrament of Baptism at his home on July 6, 1931. He learned to know the love of God through his family, his wife, his love of nature, and Christian adult education at St. John Lutheran Church of Rock Springs. He affirmed his faith in the Rite of Confirmation on April 6, 1953, at St. John Lutheran Church.

Kendall was united in marriage to Donna Meyer on October 13, 1951, at St. John Lutheran church. The Lord blessed them with two daughters and two sons. Kendall and Donna encouraged their children to make international friends through extensive travel and served as hosts for many AFS students at their home.

Three months after his retirement in 1987 he began his battle with cancer. During this time he traveled to Japan, The Phillipines, England and South Africa. He fought with dignity, and was fortified with the gifts of serenity and patience. He was an inspiration to his family and friends until he died at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, Wisconsin, on Friday, August 31, 1990.

He is survived by his wife; Donna; four children: Nancy, Mark (Debbie), Michael, and Paula (Korrie); his brothers and sisters, Stuart (Janette), Arvona Boye, Marjorie Fish, Melvin Jr. "Bingo" (Mary Jean), Milton, Evan (Audrey), Allene Gibbons, Donald "Ted" (Kathy) and Carol (William McIntyre), numerous nephews and nieces, friends and neighbors. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Rock Springs, Wisconsin.

We give thanks to the Lord for giving Kendall to us as a companion for our journey in life.
