Deacon Franklin Tyson was born April 25, 1899 to the late Julia Ann Spearman and Henry Tyson. He united with the Arkadelphia Baptist Church at an early age. Franklin was married to the late Jodie Hamlin, March 3, 1923. To this union nine (9) children were born. He departed this life January 5, 1984. Deacon Franklin Tyson is survived by two (2) sons: Prince Earl Tyson of Saginaw, Mich., Charles Edward Tyson of K.C,, MO., five (5) daughters, Jurlean Tyson, Dorothy Jean Nelson, and NaDean Douglas of Rodessa, LA., Bonnie Lyles of Washington D.C., LaJoyce Miller of Southfield, Mich., an "adopted" daughter, Arlevia Caldwell of L.A., Calif., four (4) sisters, Alice and Rosie Stewart of Texas City, Texas, Jewel Nelson of Richmond, Calif., Odie Titus of Rodessa, LA., one (1) brother, George Stewart of Rodessa, LA., twenty-nine (29) grandchildren, thirty-seven (37) great-grandchildren, and a host of neices, nephews, relatives and friends.
