Lucille Sheperla Conner, 84, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, in Guggenheimer Nursing Home. She was the wife of the Late Walter Samuel Conner. Born in Campbell County, Nov. 14, 1920, she was a daughter of the late William "Bill" Sheperla and Lucy Weigand Sheperla. Mrs. Conner retired from Central Virginia Training Center. She was a member of memorial United Methodist Church and attended Fairview United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Walter Neil Conner of Concord; a daughter and son-in-law, Gail C. and Eugene W. Mays of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Eugene W. Mays, Jr. and his wife, Meghan and Jennifer Gail Mays; two great grandchildren, Alexis and Collin Mays; and a sister-in-law, Dora A. Conner of Appomattox. She was preceded in death by a sister, Nell Falwell. Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005 at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Timothy R. Earnhardt. The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today from 7-8:30 p.m. and at other times at the home of her daughter, Keswick Dr., Lynchburg. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Parkinson Foundation.
