Lifelong Alaskan George Bourdon, 72, died June 2, 1999, at Alaska Native Medical Center. Visitation was at the Alaska Cremation Center, 3804 Spenard Road. Services were at Holy Family Cathedral with the Rev. John Adams officiating. Pallbearers included William Bourdon, Anthony Robertson, Phillip Bourdon, Timothy Tolen and Fred Ervin. Following the service a potluck and gathering of friends and family was held at Kalamazoo Kids, 300 E. 56th Ave.

Born June 2, 1927, in Nome, Mr. Bourdon graduated from Nome High School and attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, Minn., for two years. He served in the U.S. Army and was discharged in 1952 after two years of honorable service. He had worked on Fort Richardson doing maintenance on refrigeration and air conditioning units, retiring in September 1994. Mr. Bourdon enjoyed fishing, clam digging, camping and football. He also liked ice fishing, being with family and friends, and his barbecues in Seward. His family said: ''He always made sure family came first. He would save his vacation so the whole family would go fishing all summer at Deep Creek, Seward and Fairbanks. He loved camping with family and friends.''

Mr. Bourdon is survived by his wife, Cecilia Bourdon of Anchorage; daughters, Marie Bourdon, Janine Bourdon and Paula Bourdon, of Anchorage, Helen Phalin of Big Lake, and Roberta Clift of Chugiak; sons, Phillip Bourdon, William Bourdon and Anthony Robertson of Anchorage; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Ina Watson and Lydia Meyer of Anchorage, Betty Loue Bourdon of Dallas, Texas, and Jenny Patterson of Naknek; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Alaska; and his Anchorage friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, Alaska Chapter, 240 E. Tudor Road, Anchorage, 99503. Arrangements by Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
