St. Peter -- Gottfried Knoll, 82, died Friday, Nov. 5, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. He was born Nov. 30, 1899 at St. Peter, the son of John and Christina (Meier) Knoll.
He married Barbara Billinger Jan. 28, 1919 at St. Peter; she died in September 1976. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Peter.
Survivors include a son, Tim, Garden City; seven daughters, Bridget Brungardt and Sylvia Sauer, both of St. Peter, Valeria Comito, Broomfield, Colo., Leona Miller, Edgewater, Colo., Frances Earll, Butte, Mont., Barbara Solze, Garden City, and Dorothy Sauer, Wichita; two brothers, Adam, Garden City, and Carl, St. Peter; 41 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Peter, Father Bob Reif officiating; burial in church cemetery. Parish rosary will be 7:30 tonight at St. Peter Community Hall. Friends can visit after 2 p.m. today at the hall. Spencer Chapel, Hill City, is in charge of arrangements.
