b. 16 September 1815, TN – d. 26 April 1880, Cookeville, Putnam Co., TN, md Melvina (Mitchell) Isbell, b. 5 August 1820, TN – d. 2 October 1874. James Livingston "Jim" Isbell, s/o John Isbell & Rachel Parsley. Melvina (Mitchell) Isbell is buried in the Isbell Graveyard located off State Route 141 about 1 mile north west of DeKalb/Putnam Co. line on a ridge overlooking Buffalo Valley, TN. She was the 2nd w/o James Livingston "Jim" Isbell, who md 1st Rebecca Jones, b. 30 January 1822, d/o Alfred Jones (1794-1855)& Elizabeth Nichols (1799-1870).

Children: Washington Lafayette, William Jefferson, Alfred M., John & Nancy A.
