Doris Nall Cummings, 67, born Oct. 27, 1940, in Pride, and a resident of Denham Springs, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge, after a year-long courageous battle with acute leukemia. She was a 1958 graduate of Istrouma High School and a retired rural route carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. She was also a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Visitation was at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Thursday, July 3, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pride, on Friday, July 4, at 1 p.m. Burial in Pride Cemetery, Pride. Survived by her husband, Barney E. Cummings; daughter, Sonya L. Cummings; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Gregory and Julie Cummings, Byron and Wendy Cummings and Brad and Kristi Cummings; grandchildren, Ada, Maggie, Dallin, Davin, Daniel, Madalyn, Dathan, Alexis, Micah, Brennan and Jude; and brothers, Claude Jr., Fred E. and Cecil L. Nall. Preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Mae Belle Doughtery Nall; and brothers, Harry L., Woodrow F. and Willie C. Nall. The pallbearers will be Damon Bond, Jason and Michael Nall, Greg, Byron and Brad Cummings. The honorary pallbearers are Dallin Cummings and Scott and Chad Jones. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Judd Patten and the nurses and staff of the fifth floor oncology at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
