great-great-grandchild of Christopher

Resided with wife, Sadie, in Meyersdale, PA. Martin was employed by the B&O Railroad. After his father, Christopher passed away, he purchased and resided on the old homestead with his family and mother. Martin was a coal miner by trade, but also worked as a highway maintenance man. Also, like most of his family he farmed several acres of ground, raising their necessary food along with livestock. The old homestead was located on the eastern park of Elk Lick Township overlooking the Casselman River and what was then known as the Red Bridge. The bridge spans the Casselman River on the old dirt road between Meyersdale and Boynton. Martin and Sadie were members of the Amity Reformed Church of Meyersdale all their married life.
