Harvey H. Rabe, 72, of 1605 Hoover St., New Holstein, died unexpectedly Monday morning at home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. The Rev. Albert K. Borns will officiate and burial will be in Eaton Cemetery, Town of Eaton.
Mr. Rabe was born Jan. 1, 1907, in the Town of Schleswig, son of the late Otto and Emma Lawrence Rabe. Later the family moved to the Town of Eaton where he attended district school. He married Jennie Strassman April 12, 1930, in Kiel. They lived in New Holstein, where he was employed with A.T. Hipke and Son Canning Company until 1951, when they moved to the Town of Eaton and operated the Rabe farm until May of 1978, when they moved to New Holstein. Mr. Rabe was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, New Holstein.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Marilyn) Scharenbroch of Green Bay and Mrs. William (Lorraine) Bathke of Milwaukee; two brothers, Truman and Clarence of Kiel; a sister, Mrs. Glenroy (Elaine) Wendling of Collins and five grandchildren. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call in Meiselwitz Funeral Home after 4 o’clock this Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday until the time of service. A memorial has been established in his memory.
