Clarence H. Rabe, 73, of 1144 First Street, Kiel, died Sunday morning, July 15, at Willowdale Nursing home, New Holstein, where he resided since May 29,
He was born March 27, 1917, in the Town of Eaton, son of the late Otto and Emma Lawrence Rabe. He attended Elder Grove School in the Town of Eaton. On July 3, 1940, he married Norma Rades at Bethel Reformed Church, Town of Herman, Sheboygan County. He first engaged in farming and later was co-founder of the Union Brass and Aluminum Foundry in Collins. Retired in 1979, they moved to Kiel. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sheepshead and touring. He was a retired member of the Collins Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Rockea Hunting Club.
Survivors include his wife, Norma; one son, Dennis (Diane) Rabe of Collins, four daughters, Darlene (Gordon) Brehmer of Collins; Patricia (Kenneth) Groh of Elkhart Lake; Debra (Jerry) Schuh of Reedsville; Peggy (Bruce) Modrow of Milwaukee; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Elaine Wendling of Collins and one brother, Truman of Kiel. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister and one great-grandson.
