Norma Rabe, 80, formerly of Kiel, died Friday evening, Dec, 21, 2001 at Calumet Homestead Rehabilitation Center in New Holstein where she was a resident since March.
She is the former Norma Rades, born Feb 14, 1921 ub the Town of Meeme, a daughter of the late Herman and Hulda (Fromm) Rades. She attended Pigeon River School in the Town of Meeme. On July 3, 1940 she married Clarence Rabe at Bethel Reform Church in the Town of Herman (Sheboygan County). The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Her husband preceded her in death on July 15, 1900.
Before moving to Kiel in 1979, they lived in Collins for 27 years. She was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Kiel and the Eaton Ladies Aid. She loved when her children came home to visit. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her friends, flowers, baking and quilting.
Survivors include four daughters, Darlene Brehmer of Collins, Patricia (Kenneth) Groh of Elkhart Lake, Debra (Jerry) Schuh of Reedsville, and Peg (Greg) Bohl of Cedarburg; one daughter-in-law Diane Rabe of Collins; 15 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Elaine Wendling of Valders, Jenny Rabe of New Holstein and Dorothy Gutschow of Kiel; nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was also preceded in death by one son, two sons-in-law, one great-grandson, two sisters and two brothers.
