From an unnamed and undated article located in the Lamar County Genealogical Society Library, in the Taylor Collection, Box J. ‘Mrs. Virgil H. Jackson of Pleasanton, formerly of Paris, died there at Mercy Hospital Thursday, Feb. 24. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Semple officiating and burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The former Lillie Ayers, Mrs. Jackson was born Sep. 20, 1899, in Van Alstyne, a daughter of John H. Ayers and Willie Elaine Morgan Ayers. She married Virgil H. Jackson at Howe on May 17, 1917. He died in 1976. After their marriage they lived in Sherman and Hugo, OK, until 1935 when they moved to Paris. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Paris. Surviving are a son, Joe A. Jackson of Pleasanton; two grandsons, Jay Jackson of Corpus Christi and Terry Joe Jackson of Mesquite; and one great-grandchild, Kristi Anne Jackson of Corpus Christi. The family will be at the Albert King residence, 601-6th SE
