In May 1886, the "Administrator's Notice" runs in the legals naming William H. the executor of Martha F. Shoudy, deceased. This was 2 months before the marker date. On Jan. 28, 1886, William ran "A CARD", thanking his neighbors and friends for their sympathy and kindness during the "protracted illness and burial of my wife".
So it would seem, Martha died in January 1886 not July as the marker shows.
