"Charles Hanor, a merchant well known throughout this vicinity, having been engaged in business at Burlington, East Worcester, Seward, Elk Creek, and Gilbertsville before going to Oneonta about two years ago, died at the family home in that city Sunday morning after an illness of 19 days following a cerebral hemorrhage which he suffered. He had not been in the best of health for several months and for the past ten days or longer his condition had been recognized as serious. Funeral services were held from the family home Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock, with Rev. Dr. John W. Flynn of the First Methodist church officiating, and burial was made in the Brick Schoolhouse cemetery. Mr. Hanor was born at Springfield on March 2, 1868, but moved with his parents to Milford when a child. Later the family moved to Burlington which was his home for 30 years. Moving from Burlington, Mr. Hanor conducted various enterprises in the towns mentioned above, engaging in the general store business, lumbering, cheese making, and meat markets. He was a loving husband and father and he will be greatly missed in the family circle. The family will have the sympathy of wide circles of friends. Surviving are his widow, Julia M. Pashley, whom he married in 1889, a daughter, Mrs. Claude Terpenning of Seward; a son, Earl Hanor of Oneonta and a grandson, Charles Hanor, also of that city."
