Her brother, John W. Anderson, was the original owner of where the cemetery sits. He was granted a patent by the Republic of Texas on 7/24/1848 in the amount of 1/3rd of a league, totaling 1476.13 acres.
He is buried alongside his wife on Row 6...just down from the vertical memorial stone of his sister and her husband, John Lawson.
Her brother, John W. Anderson fought in both the Battle of San Jacinto in Texas and in the civil war.
