James was the 10th child of Adam Croco and Susannah Goshorn Croco.

Thank you to the ladies of the Marshall County Historical Society for James' obituary. His Obituary was in the Bourbon Mirror, Thursday July 23, 1874, page 4 column 4:

- James Croco, son of Adam Croco of
this place, died last Monday. Aged
about thirty-five years.
