Marvin Hickman, age 90, Passsed away at Calhoun Care Rehab on May 15, 2010. Marvin was born on March 22, 1920, to Luther and Delia Hickman in DeRidder, Louisiana. He Married Mabel Louise Pearce in Bryan, Ohio, on October 31, 1941, she survives. He joined the United States Army in 1939 serving as a Staff Sergeant at Fort Custer. Marvin owned Marv's Venice Shell in Venice, Florida, which he sold and retired to Michigan in the 1990's. Before moving to Florida, Marvin owned A-Z Tree Service in Battle Creek, Michigan. Surviving are daughters, Beverly (Victor) Miller and Patti (Tom) Buys; grandchildren, Mike (Marie) Miller, Victor (Misty) Miller, Margot (Mark) Bensinger, Mindi (Steven) Hommerding; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a special niece, Tressa (Russell) Miller; and a brother, J.C. (Pouba) Hickman. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Hickman; granddaughter, Vickie Glover; his parents; and brothers, Oscar Hickman, Marshall Hickman and Frank Hickman. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with The Rev. John Rowe and The Rev. Steven Hommerding officiating. The family will receive friends before the service starting at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wakeshema Community Church, 16742 East UV Avenue, Fulton, Michigan 49052 or Church of God, 765 Andrus Street, Battle Creek, Michigan 49015.
