SWORDS CREEK, Va. Carnie O'Dell "Dee" Bostic, age 73, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at his home. Born March 25, 1936, in Swords Creek, he was a son of the late James and Didema Honaker Bostic. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a disabled coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Anthony O'Dell Bostic; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife of 49½years, Emily Kennedy Bostic of the home; two daughters, Dena Anders and husband Robert and Beverly Burke and husband Johnny, all of Swords Creek; three sons, Allen Hubbard and wife Dortha, Mark Bostic and wife Robin and Jeff Bostic and wife, Patricia, all of Swords Creek; daughter-in-law, Debbie Bostic of Swords Creek; eight grandchildren, Shawn Bostic and wife Denna, Joshua Hubbard and wife Valerie, Natasha Joyce and husband Hufford, Aaron Burke, Adam Burke, Kimberly Bostic, Savannah Bostic, and James Bostic; four great-grandchildren, Luke Bostic, Chadwick Joyce, Autumn Joyce and Grayson Hubbard; sisters, Dolly Miller and Lola Miller; one expected grandchild; one expected great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, with Rev. Barry and Debra Taylor and Rev. Robert Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Va. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
