There were two men named Abijah Rogers in Oakland County at the same time, both born the same year in New York, and died one year apart. Both may have served in the War of 1812, but this one, who settled in Farmington, Oakland County, Michigan, appears in a roster of the 129th Regiment (Farnham's), New York Militia, but that appears to be a transcription error for "Elijah Rogers". If this man served at all, he may have been the Abijah listed in Swift's Detachment. The *other* Abijah, whose wife was Eve Myers, lived in Rose Township, Oakland County, Michigan and later in Fenton, Genesee County, Michigan was the one in Dougherty's New York Militia (as proven by his pension file), and the military marker here belongs on the grave of the other man, who is buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Fenton. His memorial number is 55187667.
