Virginia Holley Aaron, 86, of 2325 Maple Road, Callands, died Friday, April 16, 2010, at Danville Regional Medical Center after a four-year decline in health. She had been a patient in the hospital for one week.

Born Sept. 14, 1923, in Callands, she was the daughter of the late James Edward Holley and Sallie Slayton Coward Holley. Mrs. Aaron spent her life as a tobacco farmer, homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and caregiver. She was a member of Salem Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Matthew L. Aaron Jr., of the residence; one daughter, V. Faye Aaron, of the residence; two sons, James M. Aaron, of the residence, and Jerry L. Aaron, of Callands; three grandchildren, Jennifer D. Aaron, of Danville, David L. Aaron and his wife, Dena, of Danville, Mark C. Aaron, of Halifax; one brother, Irvin Holley, of Callands; and special friends, Terry and Jesse Andrews, of Halifax.

Mrs. Aaron was predeceased by a son, Ellis W. Aaron; and by an infant son; and also by five brothers, Carroll Holley, James E. Holley, Otis Holley, D. T. Holley and Alton Holley.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. today, April 18, 2010, at the Aaron Family Cemetery off Maple Road in Callands. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at other times will be at the residence, 2325 Maple Road, Callands.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
