Betty M. Parson, 95, of Shippensburg, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at UPMC Carlisle.

She was born May 17, 1926 in Mongul, PA. Betty was a daughter of the late Elmer P. and Edna M. Crusey Ocker.

She retired from Guyan Shoe (a division of Kinney Shoes) in Shippensburg and also worked at Newville Shoe. Betty was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Shippensburg. She was a 1944 graduate of the former Shippensburg High School.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Foster T. "Quincy" Parson who passed away June 4, 2006. Three brothers and one sister are also deceased.

She is survived by two sons, William T. (Delores) Parson of Shippensburg and Gerald L. (Hannelore) Parson of Newville; three daughters, Joyce F. Baker of Quincy, Judy K. (Donald) Donovan of Shippensburg and Donna J. (John) Kelly of Clearwater, FL; two brothers, Chester W. Ocker and Richard W. Ocker, both of Shippensburg; four sisters, Esther A. Carver, Mae E. Staver, Jean L. Mooney and Mary E. Heefner, all of Shippensburg; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services will be held in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Officiating will be Pastor Tim Beitzel. Burial will be in Mongul Cemetery. There will be no viewing or visitation.
