Myrtle Starnes Barnes, 81, 131 Second Ave., SE, died Monday at an area nursing home following a period of declining health.
A homemaker, she was born Feb. 12, 1903 in Catawba County.
Surviving are a daughter, Sadie Haubert of Dayton, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
A private funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Aubrey Folk at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Bass-Smith Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The body will remain at the funeral home.
The family will be at the residence of Opel Riddle, 218 Twenty-first St., SW.
