A 19 year old Hickory Township girl, daughter of Sharon Steel Corp. sales representative, was killed Saturday in an automobile accident in Jeannette, Pa., where she was spending the weekend.
Miss Linda Byrne of 1729 Woodside Drive was pronounced dead at Jeannette District Memorial Hospital after she had been thrown from an automobile.
Miss Byrne was in a car driven by Miss Della Buchardt, a former classmate whom she was visiting in Jeannette.
Authorities said a truck turned left into the path of Miss Buchardt's car in downtown Jeannette.
Miss Byrne was employed in the industrial relations department at Westinghouse Electric. She was one of 13 persons killed in state highway accidents over the weekend.
Miss Byrne was born April 27, 1948 in New York, N.Y., a daughter of James W. and Eleanor Nuebel Byrne. She was a 1965 graduate of Hickory High School, where she had been a majorette. She graduated in 1967 from Robert Morris Junior College, Pittsburgh. She was a member of Notre Dam Church and Alpha Iota, honorary business sorority.
Besides her parents, she leaves a sister, Susanne of Totown, N.J., and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Terence Byrne of Kingstown, N.Y.
