R. G. Belew, 809 Warren, died at his residence late Wednesday afternoon. Funeral services will be held from the Anderson-Clayton Chapel at 2:30 pm Friday with Rev. B. A. Patton and Rev. Larry Adams officiating. Internment will be in Oakland Memorial Park with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Robert Gilbert Belew was born in Tennessee in Oct. 18, 1890. He came to Texas as a young man and spent most of his life in and around Terrell.
He was a member of the Nazarene Church.
He married Miss Georgia Hisaw on Nov. 19, 1916. Surviving him are: his wife, Mrs. Georgia Belew of Terrell; Three sons, Kenneth Belew of Dallas, Gilbert Belew Jr. of Louisville, KY and Billy Belew of St. Paul, MN; three daughters, Mrs. Onita Patton, Mrs. Betty Elliott of Terrell and Mrs. Oleta Weatherford of Wichita Falls, TX; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom Belew of Terrell; two-half brothers, Johnnie Pitts of Seagoville and Calvin Pitts of Baytown; one step-bother, Virgil Pitts of Texas City and one step-sister, Mrs Minnie Strapling of Baytown.
