Statesboro- Geneva Hodges Banks, 82, died Friday, April 25, 2003 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The native of Bulloch County lived in Savannah for many years. She was a graduate of Savannah High School and the University of Georgia. She was employed with the Corps of Engineers in Savannah before returning to Statesboro. Much of her time was devoted to serving as a leader with the Brownies and Girl Scouts. Mrs. Banks was secretary to Dr. Zach Henderson and Dr. Marvin Pittman at Georgia Teachers College for a number of years. At the time of her retirement, she was a secretary with Reddick Insurance Agency. She was a member of the Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her brother, Benjamin B. Hodges. Survivors: husband of 57 years, Henry W. Banks, Sr. of Statesboro; two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Brent Lanier of Statesboro and Barbara and Larry Carroccino of Dublin; one son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Susan Banks; one granddaughter, Beth Banks; sister-in-law, Mary Hodges, all of Statesboro; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: 5:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist church. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
