Born in Hooksett, N.H., July 12, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Elsie (Blaney) Bartlett; and sister of the late Eleanor Nelson, Phyllis Riley, Rosamond Dorney, and Robert and Henry Bartlett.
Mrs. Hamson was a member of St. Stephen's United Methodist Church in Marblehead and matriarch of the Hamson family in Lynnfield. She enjoyed art, dance, reading, decorating, gardening, traveling and caring for her children and grandchildren. She was devoted to her family and her loving husband, Roger.
Mrs. Hamson exemplified courage and selflessness throughout her illness. Her family and friends will miss her and always cherish her spirit of goodness, enthusiasm and acceptance of all people.
From her memoirs, she said: "My gift of love, please use it often toward one another. God loves you and so do I. So be happy."
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hamson is survived by her children, Donald Hamson, Geryl Hueter and Jocelyn Gardiner and their spouses; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 1 from St. Stephen Methodist Church, Marblehead, followed by burial in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. Arrangements were by the Eustis-Cornell Funeral Home of Marblehead.
