You might note that a granddaughter says that Gifton Eugene Rush Sr was an adopted son of William Henry Rush, and that Rebecca Milling was his stepmother. After their marriage, Ida Logan became Gifton's step mother. Gifton's biological mother was from Arkansas, came here, had him, left him with William Henry Rush and returned home to Arkansas. Family history reveals that William Henry Rush raised him as his "own child" and he very well could have been. I will keep you updated on this as we are looking for the name in the family records of the woman who actually gave birth to Gifton Eugene Rush, Sr. Sandi Kelley-Kelly

Suggested edit: 1910 federal census lists Gifton as "adopted son," born in Alabama.
