John Gurchak, 79, of East Stroudsburg, died Monday, May 31, at Stroud Manor.
Born in Pittsburgh on May 26, 1920, he was the son of the late George and Mary (Rose) Gurchak.
He was employed by Row Manufacturing Company of Texas.
He was a resident of Monroe County since 1984 and prior to that of New Jersey.
He was a veteran of the United States Army of World War II and served in the 1755th Engineer Treadway Bridge Company.
He is survived by two sisters, Katherine Bobick of Whippany, N.J., and Mary Waters of Morristown, N.J
A graveside service will be held on June 3 at 2 p.m. at the Sand Hill Cemetery in Middle Smithfield Township with the Reverend Raymond Poortstra officiating.
There will be no viewing.
