Funeral services for the late Judge J.R. Graham, who died at his home 809 Pile street, last Friday morning,(10/4/1929) were held at Calvary Presbyterian church this afternoon, Rev. Clyde Barton, the pastor, officiating. Interment was in Clovis cemetery immediately following the service at the church. Judge Graham had been in apparent good health until last Thursday evening when he complained of feeling bad. He was taken home where he went immediately to his bed, never arising again, as he died the following morning. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. J.R. Graham; five daughters Letty, Mary, Elizabeth and Mrs. George(Gus) Campbell all of Clovis, and Mrs. I.R. Gibbs of Hot Springs, AR. herself sick and unable to to be here for the funeral; two sons, Seph and Jimmie, who also live here; three brothers, John Graham, Orange, California, S.C. Graham of Cisco, TX, and R. J. Graham of Stevensville, Al., none of whom were here. Among the relatives here for the funeral are I.R. Gibbs, Hot Springs, Ark., S.W. Norwood, brother-in-law, Shamrock, TX, and Miss Jane Graham, a niece, a nurse at the Baptist hospital. Judge Graham was born in Stevenville(Stevenson) Alabama and was 71 years, six months and two days old at the time of his death. He came to this state 20 years ago, and for several years before moving to Clovis to make his home, was a rancher in Curry County and on the Pecos river. He served for six years as police judge and justice of the peace and enjoyed the friendship, respect and confidence of everyone.
