New Hampton Courier. Aug 26, 1896 page Col 3
Died
Kloster-Mrs. Valentine Kloster at her home east of Davon, Friday, August 24th, aged 52 years and 8 months.
Deceased was born in Aberhaem, Hessadem, Germany, in the year 1842.
In 1862 she came to this country, first settling in Freeport, Illinois, where she shortly after became the wife of Valentine Kloster. After five years in Freeport they came to Iowa, settling in Washington township. She was the mother of nine children, only three remaining to mourn a mothers death. After 35 years of married life she leaves a loving husband and three children to mourn her loss. She was a firm believer in the Catholic faith and a good Christian who will be missed in the neighborhood but most of all by her family.
The funeral service was held in the church at North Washington, Rev. Father Probst officiating and a large number of friends followed the remains to their resting place.
Note by 2x great grand daughter- Justine Kamlager-Larson- based on when Elizabeth and Valentine were married in 1860 in Davis Il., she would have immigrated to the US in at least 1860. I also have the year of 1840 as being her birth year.
