Mrs. Pearl Della Bentsen,20, wife of Alfred J. Bentsen, died June 1, 1944 at the home of her husband's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Chris Bentsen. Mrs. Bentsen, who had been ill the past six months, was born July 23, 1923 in Paris; the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel W. and Olive (Passey Larsen) Lewis. She had lived in Montpelier since June 03, 1941, the date of her marriage.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a baby daughter, RaeAnn Bentsen; five sisters, Mrs. Gerald (Merinda) Bentsen, of Montpelier, Mrs Gene Birch, Lola Dean, LaRee and Nelda Lewis, of Paris; four brothers, Newell Lewis of Paris; Marvin Larsen of Montpelier, Russell and Joe Lewis both of Paris.
Services were held Sunday in the Fourth Ward Chapel with Eugene P. Shepherd presiding. Opening song, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," quartet comprised of G. W. Staker, Mrs. Brandon Wilcox, Mrs Howard Heninger and Jack Kennard; invocation, Fred Bartlome; vocal solo, "Whispering Hope," Mrs. B. E. Mumford; speaker, Bishop O. H. Grimmet; vocal solo, "in The Garden," F. M. Williams; speaker, William E. Neild; remarks, Bishop Shepherd; vocal duet, "Perfect Day," Mr. and Mrs. Milford Passey; benediction, John Roghgar.
Interment was in the Montpelier Cemetery and the grave was dedicated by Joseph Einzinger.
The F. M. Williams Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
