William H. Lawrence of Eugene died Feb. 21 [19th] of pneumonia. A resident since 1986, he was 77.

Lawrence was born Dec. 20, 1923, in Mason City, Iowa. He married Grace Christensen on Reno, Nev., on July 14, 1970.

He graduated from high school in Iowa. He attended college in Minnesota and studied business administration. He served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a salesman for an automotive business.

He lived in Hayward, California before moving to Eugene. He enjoyed golf, spending time in Hawaii and lodge activities. He was a member of the Eugene Eagles and the Springfield Elks and the Eugene Moose lodges.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Debbie Llama of Concord, Calif.; three stepdaughters, Gayle Wilson of Concord, Calif., Cheryl Christensen of Hayward, California and Denise Kulick of Springfield; and three grandsons.

No services are planned.
