A tombstone with the following inscription marks his grave; "LUAS MULLINS BORN APRIL 27,1815, DIED JUNE 23,1868, 'HIS HAPPY SOUL HAS WINGED ITS WAY TO ONE PURE BRIGHT ETERNAL DAY" "(age 53 years, 1 month and 26 days). The grave was enclosed by a hart pine picket fence belted together with pegs (no nails).there was a fire (when i don't know) a while back I'm guessing, the fire burned up to the picket and stopped . Some of the pickets was blacked but not burnt.
Lewis is not buried here, but some of the family was wanting to have the grave moved next to Catherine. He is buried on the old farm place. But not to many people knew where this grave was located.
This marker (broken part) was found proped up against the power pole which is a good block or 1/4 mile, no way could I go there now, the knee would not let me :-( but anyway thought we were gonna have to walk through over grown grass & big stick poles , but when a cousin and I went back the power co. had been by and got it walkable :-)(not to easy but better than the way it was )
from Barbara Cox "Tombstone Inscription found in Mullins Cemetery which is located thus: From Ozark go south on Beeline Highway toward Newton for approximately 6 miles. Inquire at house on right, just before you
reach Glendyke (Sic) Bridge. Copied Oct 12, 1949"
Should be Klondyke Bridge.
