IRVING - Ignacio Diaz, 76, of Irving and formerly of Victoria, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004.
He was born Sept. 19, 1928, in Del Rio, to the late Aurelio and Concepcion Risa de Diaz. He graduated from San Felipe High School in Del Rio and received bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Texas in Austin. He was a retired educator for Victoria ISD and a former member of the DeLeon Club and several educational organizations. He was a Catholic and a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral.
Survivors: daughters, Cristina Diaz Graham of Irving and Gricelda Diaz Eades of Tucson, Ariz.; sons, Carlos Ignacio Diaz and Rolando Aurelio Diaz, both of Houston; sister, Olga Diaz de Garza of Sabinas, Coahuila, Mexico; brothers, Aurelio Diaz M.D. and Carlos F. Diaz, both of San Antonio; and seven grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: wife, Graciela Villanueva Diaz.
Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. today at Artero Memorial Chapels.
A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral, the Msgr. Michael Harrold officiating.
Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Artero Memorial Chapels, Victoria, 361-575-3212.
