Mrs. Agnes Mix, wife of William Mix, died at the family home in the northeast part of the village last Saturday morning, January 12, 1924, aged 54 years. Her death followed an acute illness of but a few days, and was superinduced by a fall that she sustained two weeks before while returning home from services at the Catholic church.
Mrs. Mix, who was a well known member of the Pokagon band of Pottawattamie Indians, was the daughter of Seatone Moltey and was born near Rush lake in Covert township of January 1, 1870. She was one of a family of four children, two sisters and a brother having passed away several years ago. On February 8, 1887, she was married to Wm. Mix, of this village who survives her.
She also leaves an adopted daughter, Cecelia Mix, who was the daughter of Mrs. Mix's uncle, Isaac Motey, besides other relatives and a large circle of friends among whom she was highly regarded. Mrs. Mix was a staunch member of the Catholic faith. Funeral services for her were held yesterday morning at the Catholic church and interment was at Maple Hill.
