Obituary: Fay Chapman, 84, local woman's mother, dies

Fay Chapman, 84, of Martinsville, died Sunday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Bernice) Ulrey of Robinson. Although Mrs. Chapman had been in failing health, death was unexpected.

Preceded in death by her husband, Mervin, she is survived by one son, Don Chapman, Robinson, Rte. 4; three daughters, Mrs. Russell (Mildred) Bolt, Bremen, Ind.; Mrs. Stanley (Zola) Winn, Westfield and Mrs. Vic (Lorene) Good, Effingham; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Metheny, Robinson, and Floyd Metheny, Washington, Ind. and three sisters, Essie Larrabee, Fancheon Willard and Lucy Kisner all of California.

Funeral services will be held at the Butternut Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she had been a member, at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Earl Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Friends may call after noon today at the Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville until one hour preceding services.
