MRS. N. BROWN DIED SUNDAY, ILL TWO WEEKS
Was Lifelong Resident Of Caledonia Vicinity - Death Followed Two-Week Illness - Complications Due To Age Blamed - Rites Tuesday.
Mrs. Nettie Brown, 85, Caledonia housewife and lifelong resident of the Caledonia vicinity, died in Highland hospital Sunday evening at 6 o'clock. She had been ill two weeks and death was attributed to complications due to her advanced age.
Mrs. Brown was born in Caledonia township Sept. 7, 1860, the daughter of Matthew and Agnes McMillan. She was educated in the Caledonia township schools. She married William H. Brown at the home of her parents in Caledonia, Jan. 11, 1883.
She was a member of the Willow Creek Presbyterian church. During recent years Mrs. Brown had lived in the village of Caledonia.
Survivors include one son, Hugh M. Brown, Poplar Grove, and one brother, Charles McMillan of Caledonia, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, who died May 29, 1939, two sons, three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel at the Scottish cemetery in Caledonia township at 2:30 Tuesday, with the Rev. Robert Hubbard in charge. Burial will be in Scottish cemetery.
Friends may call at the Atkins-Johnson funeral home until Tuesday noon.
