LaFAYETTE, James "JimBo" Ballinger, 91, passed away Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, in his home surrounded by family.
He was born July 16, 1917, in Walker County to the late Joseph and Delia Ridley Ballinger. He retired from Armstrong Carpet Mill, was a member of Foster Mill Baptist Church, and attended Old Way Baptist Church.
He also was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Marie Akins Ballinger; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include nieces and care givers, Bobbie Brown and her spouse, Thomas Brown, of Trion, and Sue Weaver, of Summerville; several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Thompson officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
