Well Known Resident Of Argyle Died Sunday Morning After Long Illness - Leaves Widow And Five Children - Hemorrhage Of Kidney Cause Of Death - Had Lived Many Years In Scottish Settlement - Funeral To Be Tuesday
William A. Ralston, one of the early settlers of Argyle and well known in the Scotch settlement, died Sunday morning at 2 o'clock at his home after a long illness. He had been failing in health for sometime suffering of hrmorrhage of the kidneys and had not been expected to live for some days past.
He was one of the sturdy farmers who made the Scotch settlement one of the best sections in this end of the state and had many friends in Rockford. He was the father of Miss Lorena Ralston, who is employed as a clerk in the Rockford National Bank.
Mr. Ralston was 67 years old and a native of Scotland. He had lived for many years on his farm in Argyle, and is survived by his wife and five children, Gertrude, Lorena, Arthur, Carlyle and Helen. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Jas. McEachran, who is now at the Rockford Hospital recovering from an operation for appendicitis, and Mrs. John McGeachie, who lives six miles west on the state road.
The funeral is to be Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock from the home. Rev. M. L. Pearson conducts the services.
