DUBLIN, Va. — Della Bennett Todd, 84, of Dublin, Va., formerly of Layland, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at Highland Ridge Rehab in Dublin, Va.
Born June 18, 1924, in Crab Orchard, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Alice Plumley Bennett.
Della was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Delbert Todd, in 2005; two daughters, Jeanie Ann Todd and Bessie Sue Cox; a son, Tommy Joe Todd; two sisters, Stella Rouse and Marie Adkins; and three brothers, Charlie, Howard, and Junior Bennett.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice Gee and husband Bill of Radford, Va., and Mary June Lilly of Rainelle; two sisters, Nannie Hunt of Daniels and Sarah Adkins of Shady Spring; four grandchildren, Carolyn Tilley, Kathy Taylor, Richard Lilly, and Todd Gee; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 7, 2008, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle, with Pastor Darrell Linkous officiating. Burial will follow in the New Salem Church Cemetery in Abraham, W.Va.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service.
There will be no evening visitation.
