Peter Schafer, 91, died Wednesday, April 14 at the Isabella Medical Care Facility.

He was born Feb. 23, 1880, in Westphalia, Mich.

He was a member of St. Joseph The Worker Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus Council 3651 of Beal City. He was a former Nottawa Township Road Commissioner and a former member of the Isabella County Road Commission.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Theresa) Fox, Beal City and Sister Marie Alexander, Marywood, Grand Rapids; three sons, John, Saginaw, and Paul and Howard of Beal City; 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 17, at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph The Worker Church in Beal City, Father S.A. Bur officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Rosary services will be held tonight and Friday at 8 pm, at the J. J. Rush Funeral Home.
