Clyde Raymond Ragel, 83, of Vandalia died at 2:30am Wednesday, May 29, 1996, at his residence.
Mr Ragel was born April 13, 1913, in Wheatland Township, the son of Clarence Wilbert Ragel and Emma Lowry Ragel. He was owner of Ragel's Barber Shop in St Elmo for 25 years, retiring in 1978. He was a Vandalia resident for 50 years. He married Helen Brewbaker in 1934.
He is survived by his wife; son, Donald Ragel and wife Theresa of Vandalia; daughters, Erma L Stolte and husband Bill of Vandalia; and Mary Jo Summann and husband Glen of Brownstown; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Dean Ragel; three brothers; and three sisters.
