MARYVILLE, Mo. - Marion Glen Eskridge, 77, of Maryville, died Sunday, May 13, 2007, at his home.
He was born Dec. 9, 1929, in Platte City, Mo., the son of Henry Lee and Marie (Scherf) Eskridge. He was a graduate of Dearborn High School, Dearborn, Mo., and served in the U.S. Army.
Marion married Eva Lene Thompson on June 1, 1984, in Maryville.
A farmer, Mr. Eskridge worked for the Missouri State Highway Department, retiring in 1996.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Elmer, Everett "Pup" and John Eskridge; and three sisters, Dixie Eskridge, Marie Ussery and Lora Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Eskridge of their home in Maryville; two sons, Marion Eskridge, and his wife, Carol, Kansas City, Mo.; and Lee Eskridge, Kansas City; two daughters, Gayle Eskridge, and her husband, Rod Bandt, Torrance, Calif.; and Jill Eskridge Evans, Holt, Mo.; two stepsons, Joseph Reynolds; and Martin Reynolds, and his wife, Becky, all of Maryville; three stepdaughters and their husbands, Norma and Charles Fattig, Barnard, Mo.; Marcia and R. Michael Evans, DeKalb, Mo.; and Beth and Jim Zech, Maryville; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim Eskridge, and his wife, Ellen, Dearborn; a sister, Lucille Purvis, Plattsburg, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 18, at Price Funeral Home, Maryville. Burial will be in Dearborn Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the SSM Hospice of Northwest Missouri in Mr. Eskridge-s name.
