CROUSE—Sylvester Crouse, 91, died last night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Stevens, 3111 Tracy avenue; where he had lived three years. He was a veteran of the Civil war, and later taught school in Michigan and Ohio. He had lived in Kansas City thirteen years. Mr. Crouse, who was born in New Jersey, has no survivors. An only son, Albert Crouse, died three years ago.

LEAVENWORTH, KAS., June 23.—The sounding of taps in the national cemetery today marked the funeral of Sylvester Crouse, 91-year-old civil war veteran, who died Wednesday at Kansas City. Mr. Crouse was born October 3, 1847, at Hunterdon, N. J. He served with the 38th New Jersey infantry as a member of company E. The colors of all veterans organizations at the home were massed at the services.
