Joseph Delaune, 82, retired employe of the Sun Oil Pipeline company who came to Jefferson county in 1919, died at 11:30 a. m. today at the home of a daughter, Mrs. J. D. Thompson, on the old Beaumont highway.

Born in St. Mary's parish, La., Mr. Delaune moved to Beaumont in 1919, and following his retirement by the Sun company in 1938, came to Port Arthur. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church.

Surviving are two sons, Maj. J. R. Delaune, U. S. Air corps, Bowman field, Louisville, Ky., and J. J. Delaune, Port Arthur; eight daugters, Mrs. J. D. Thompson, Mrs. J. T. Urwin, Mrs. J. C. Placette, Mrs. H. M. Thompson and Mrs. Lollie Gallsworthy, all of Port Arthur, Mrs. A. Suarez of Lafayette, La., and Mrs. J. S. Romere of Sour Lake and Mrs. J. S. Hoover of Houston; 50 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Burial, with Clayton and Thompson directing, will be in Forest Lawn cemetery, Beaumont.

Pallbearers will be J. T. Urwin, S. Romere, H. M. Thompson, A. Suarez, J. D. Thompson and J. C. Placette.
