Rites Sunday for G. R. McGregor
Dies Last Thursday at Home Here

George Robinson McGregor, 82 years old, died last Thursday at his home here. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Charles C. Clark, were Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Church.
Norman Julian, Leon Maddock, Mrs. Don Taylor and Mrs. E. E. Wampler sang "Blest Be the Tie" and "Faith of Our Father." Mrs. Mabel Johnson was accompanist. The pallbearers were Paul Burch, Novie Campbell, Chester McAllister, Jean Taylor, Wilbur Hustead, Martin Carey and Leo Shrpener. Burial was in New Garden cemetery in the family lot where his ancestors, some of the original settlers of this section of the state, were buried.
Mr. McGregor was born March 18, 1868 near Brookfield. He was of Scotch Parentage, the family coming directly to Missouri from Scotland shortly before his birth. He lived all his life in this community and was active in the Methodist church, serving as a trustee of the church and superintendent of the Sunday school for several years. When unable to attend church he enjoyed radio church services. Mr. McGregor was interested in the public schools and served on the board of education for many years. He was a member of the Woodman of the World Lodge.
Besides his widow of the home, Mr. McGregor leaves six daughters, Mrs. C. H. Wilke of Kewanee, Illinois; Misses Clara McGregor and Barbara McGregor both of Kansas City, Miss Carolyn McGregor of Washington, D.C.; Mrs M. L. DeGraene of Elmhurst, Illinois and Mrs. G. N. Tidd of Rosenburg, Texas; a granddaughter Marianne DeGraene; three grandsons, Larry, Thomas and Gregory Tidd; five brothers, John McGregor of Columbus, Kansas; W. B. McGregor of Jefferson City; Duncan McGregor of Arizona, Calvin McGregor of Urbana and Robert McGregor of Winslow, Arizona; a step brother, Mac Young of Pattonsburg; other relatives and a host of friends.
