Omer J. Barriere, 62, of 1035 Stafford St., Rochdale, died in St. Vincent Hospital after a long illness.

His wife, June V. (Barton) Barrriere, died in 1960.

Mr. Barriere was an automobile mechanic with Charles Chevrolet Co. for 28 years. He retired in 1967.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

At the time of his death he left five sons, David L., Ronald A., Francis A., Robert A., and Richard Barriere, all of Rochdale; two daughters, Mary, wife of Richard Coburn of Sterling, and Susan, wife of Richard Whalen of Orange; four brothers, Hector E., Frank A., and Ernest H. Barriere, all of Auburn, and Laurence E. Barriere of West Boylston; four sisters, Irene C., wife of Nicholas Colaizzi, Edna M., wife of Philip Scerra, both of Auburn, Rita B., wife of Maurice Toupin of Grafton, and Mrs. Yvonne M. Johnson of Sutton, and 13 grandchildren.

He was born in Auburn, son of Alfred E. and Emma L. (Contois) Barriere, and had lived in Rochdale for 30 years.

The funeral was held from Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St., Worcester with a Mass in St. Aloysius Church, 2 Church Place, Rochdale. Burial was in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.

Calling hours were held in the funeral home.
