Died. On Thursday, the 3d. inst., Henry Mauvais, aged 49 years.
The subject of the above notice was born in Montrejenne, Province of Alsace, France, in 1831. Came to Avon, Ill., in the year 1855. He followed his trade of carpenter and cabinet maker, until 1869, when he formed a co-partnership with Mr. Leopold Stocker in the furniture business, in which connection he was at the time of his death.
Mr. Mauvais was one of the reliable men of Avon, modest and courteous in his demeanor, of few words; he was strictly upright in all his dealings with fellow men.
The cause of his untimely death was from injuries received from falling from the steeple of the Catholic Church, (of which he was an active and zealous member) while erecting a scaffold, for the use of the painter.
He leaves a wife and two children, who in this sad bereavment, have the sympathy of the entire community for the loss of him; they have been deprived of a kind husband and father, and our town a valuable citizen.
