Knapp Holman, named for his mothers maiden name, was the youngest of nine children born to William Steele and Abigail Knapp Holman. His birth and death ocurred at Veraestau, the family home on the hill above Aurora. The book 'Dearborn County Cemetery Records, Part B' shows a record on page 75 (1888) that indicates the burial of an infant, but the name was originally interpreted as Holden. It is now believed that this record (Permit 1666) is this child.
Note: I made a correction on the dates of Knapp Holman. After noticing the date to be inconsistent with the dates of his siblings, a fellow researcher (dchintx) found a newspaper article that confirms that the dates should be 1868 and not 1888.
